History
On the Vedeggio plain, Bioggio was for centuries a farming municipality before becoming, in the second half of the 20th century, one of the economic and commercial hubs of the Lugano agglomeration. Its historic core, with its church and stone houses, now coexists with the industrial and commercial zones that have grown along the valley. The territory extends to the foot of the hills that separate the Vedeggio from the Malcantone.
