History
Quinto, in the upper Leventina valley, includes the village of Ambrì, home to the storied HC Ambrì-Piotta ice hockey club, founded in 1937 and a sporting symbol of the whole valley. The municipality stretches at the foot of the Gotthard and Nufenen passes, amid forests and mountain pastures. The stone architecture of its oldest hamlets bears witness to Leventina's alpine way of life.
